FIRST DAY: arrival to Brindisi and transfer to Lecce, “la città signorile” (the gentle city), fortified under Charles V who ennobled the city declaring it “chieftown”. Walk in the historic centre, considered the highest expression of the Baroque of Apulia.  Visit to the most important palaces of 17h and 18th century and the renowned Church of Santacroce, which construction started in 1549. Lunch in a trattoria  with typical Salento dishes. AFTERNOON: Going to Salice Salentino, important wine-producing centre in the countryside of Lecce. Tasting of excellent D.O.C. wines. Departure to Galatina. Accommodation in the hotel. Dinner and overnight staying.

SECOND DAY: visit to Galatina, the nice medieval city with its aristocratic Baroque palaces of the historic centre, where stands the Gothic Church of Santa Caterina d'Alessandria.  Going to Otranto, the most eastern town in Italy. Visit to the Cathedral which guards the precious pavement mosaic dated back to 1165 representing the Tree of Life and the renowned Cappella degli Ottocento Martiri killed during the Turkish incursion of 1480. Walk toward the Castello Aragonese and the great bastions fortified walls overlooking the sea and protecting the labyrinthine historic centre.
AFTERNOON: Stop in a cantina of 1700 in Scorrano. Tastings of olive oil, wine and vegetables in oil.  Return to the hotel. Dinner and overnight staying.

THIRD DAY: departure for Gallipoli. The “Beautiful City”, as the Greeks named it. Overlooking the sea, the city  has typically orientalal characteristic lanes, courtyards and baronial palaces. Visit to the Cathedral with the original façade in tophus stone, expression of the Baroque of Salento, the underground oil mill and the Church of Santa Maria della Purità with a beautiful pavement of maiolica ceramics of 1700. Lunch in a restaurant on the seaside.
AFTERNOON: going to Nardò, visit to the aristocratic palaces of the historic centre and tour of the Masserie Didattiche.
Return tothe hotel. Dinner and overnight staying.

FOURTH DAY: Going to Brindisi, transfer to the Airport and departure.
