1st DAY:Morning: arrival to Taranto, one of the greatest colony of the Magna Graecia. Here Archita the mathematician was born and Plato the philosopher lived.
Accommodation in the hotel. Visit to the old historical centre of the city, ladders and lanes, Here stand the Romanesque Cathedral dedicated to San Cataldo, the aristocratic palaces as the Palazzo Pantaleo, located near the Museo Nazionale Archeologico, which houses plenty of precious objects of the classic and hellenistic art and unique jewels: golden tiaras, necklaces, fibulas and the renowned Kore of Montegranaro. The seafront Vittorio Emanuele II is the most beautiful promenade to get to the modern part of the city and walk along the shop streets and the cafès.
Return to the hotel, dinner and overnight staying.

2nd DAY: Visit to the Conca d’oro, fertile land of orange trees. Visit to Massafra, and then to the Farmacia del Mago Greguro, a row of 12 caves connected one to the other. Lunch in the historical centre of the city. AFTERNOON: walking in Mottola, visit to the Grotte di Dio churches, cave churches dated back between V and the XV century. Going to Palagianello. Visit to the troglodyte village and then to Ginosa, municipium during the Roman period, its Gravina was the movie set of the Pasolini’s “Il vangelo secondo Matteo”. Laterza is an alternative itinerary for excursionists, where the Italian Association for the protection of birds (LIPU) has created several walking or bikini trekking circuits.
EVENING: walk through the historical centre of Castellaneta, enchanted by the myth of Rodolfo Valentino, the mute cinema actor born here and famous in Hollywood as a God of Love. Return to Taranto. Dinner and overnight staying.
3rd DAY
MORNING: Departure from Taranto. Visit to the “Murgia tarantina” towards Statte, built during the roman period as the "acquedotto del Triglio" dated back to 123 b.C. Today it is possible to walk along it with a local guide. Visit to Grottaglie, centre of the artistic pottery production since the Middle Age. Visit to the Museo della ceramica housed in the Castello Episcopio. Promenade through Li cammen’re, the craftsman potters district. Aperitif in Manduria, the most important wine centre of the South of Italy with the Primitivo, DOC certified wine, naturally sweet.
AFTERNOON: going to Oria. Visit to the great Castello Svevo built under Federico II in 1227 and the Baroque Cathedral, with its great dome covered by maiolica potteries.
EVENING: Return to Taranto. Dinner and overnight staying.
4th DAY
MORNING: Departure from Taranto.
